Man accused of embezzling from Road Atlanta

|

Allegations of a criminal nature can affect not only the accused's reputation, but also their personal relationships and their current job. Even if the allegations relate to white-collar crimes, non-violent crimes committed for financial reasons, they can still significantly impact someone's life. This is especially true if the accusations become public as people often rush to judgment without all the facts.

A former employee of Road Atlanta may be facing these problems as he finds himself accused of 164 counts of transaction card fraud and two counts of felony theft by deception. Even though the exact nature of the allegations is unclear, he faces charges of embezzling more than $120,000 between 2010 and 2012 from the auto racing facility he worked. Though he was arrested earlier last month, he was released from jail on bond.

According to his representative, the accused was completely surprised when he heard the allegations as he worked loyally and diligently for the facility as the vice president. The representative urged people not to rush to conclusions, and reminded them that someone accused of a crime is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Atlanta residents facing similar charges should keep these words in mind because bad press often leads public opinion. Nonetheless, consulting an experienced attorney may be one way people can prove their innocence. A professional will not only guide the accused through the legality of the case, but also help them keep their personal life in order, including defending them in the public eye. An aggressive defense can attack every aspect of the prosecution's case to demonstrate that the allegations are unfounded.
